Hands-on Summer 2025 Sculpture Studio Internship. Ideal for students or recent grads eager to gain real world experience and get a behind the scenes look at a professional studio. Paid stipend and potential for future paid opportunities, based on performance.
What You’ll Learn:
Assist with sculptures, using techniques like carving, sanding, and casting. Must be comfortable using or learning how to use basic power tools like drill, jigsaw, dremel, and sanders (wood, high-density foam, etc.).
Learn how to build scaled exhibition models.
Studio documentation for email communication, social media posts, etc. Related photo editing, and retouching skills
How to update Filemaker database of artworks to track consignments, sales, manage inventory details, etc
Create scaled fabrication diagrams using Adobe Illustrator.
Support studio tasks like exhibition prep, research, and sourcing materials.
Applicant Criteria:
Current art student or recent grad passionate about sculpture or related fields, looking to gain work experience in a professional artist’s studio.
Comfortable with basic carpentry, sanding, carving, and power tools (jigsaw, Dremel, etc.). Mold-making/casting experience a plus.
Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or photography is a bonus.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to commit 2 days/week (10am-6pm) from mid-May to August 2025 (flexible schedule).
Gain real world work experience in sculpture fabrication and professional studio practices.
Receive mentorship, feedback on your work, career or school advice, letters of recommendation, etc.
Potential for future paid opportunities based on performance.
